According to the Sources, the launch events was initially set for the upcoming week in New York, Washington, and California, have been discreetly rescheduled for early 2024. This decision was made due to concerns over Gemini’s responsiveness to non-English prompts and inquiries, prompting Google to ensure the AI meets the highest standards before its public debut.
Superior Performance and Computing Power
Despite being unreleased for public use, Gemini has been praised for its superior performance compared to OpenAI’s GPT-4, attributed to its utilization of significantly more computing power.
Sissie Hsiao, Google’s VP and manager of Bard and Google Assistant, expressed awe at Gemini’s capabilities, stating, “I’ve seen some pretty amazing things.” Earlier, Hsiao shared an example of Gemini’s prowess, illustrating how it can generate original images in response to specific requests, such as providing step-by-step illustrations for cake icing.
